FAQ

When is the best time to book?
Because maternity and newborn sessions are time-sensitive, I always recommend getting in touch as early as possible to secure your preferred date or due month.
For maternity sessions, the best time to reach out is once you’ve entered your second trimester. We’ll aim to schedule your session between 32–36 weeks, when your beautiful bump is showing and you’re still feeling comfortable.
For newborn sessions, I only take on a limited number each month to ensure a relaxed and personalised experience — so don’t leave it too late! Newborns are best photographed within the first 7–21 days, when they’re still snuggly, sleepy, and oh-so-little
What is golden hour?
Golden hour is the magical window of time shortly after sunrise or just before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and oh-so-dreamy. It typically happens about 45 minutes after the sun rises in the morning, or 45 minutes before the sun sets in the evening.
This light wraps beautifully around you, creating a gentle glow and those soft shadows that make your images feel timeless and full of emotion. It’s my favourite time to shoot, especially for maternity and family sessions — perfect for cuddles, connection, and capturing you in the most flattering light.
Where do sessions take place?
For maternity and family sessions, I have a beautiful list of preferred locations — from open fields to beaches and rolling hills.
If you have a special spot in mind, I’m more than happy to travel to you! Just a quick note: locations beyond 30km from Clarkson (6030) will incur a $50 travel fee.
If you opt for a studio newborn session, these will take place at either Sol Tank Studio in Clarkson, or Parker and Stone in Osborne Park.
A South of the River studio is available for an additional fee.
Do you have a client wardrobe?
I sure do! I know the last thing you want is to stress about finding something to wear that you might only use once. I’ve curated a beautiful collection of hand-selected maternity pieces, along with breastfeeding-friendly dresses — all available with every session package.
For newborn sessions, I’ll bring along a selection of cozy outfits, delicate accessories, and soft blankets for your little one, so you can relax and enjoy the moment while I take care of the details.
What happens if it rains or we need to reschedule?
Sometimes the weather just doesn’t play nice — and that’s okay! In cases of extreme heat or rain, we’ll reschedule your session to ensure everyone’s safety, protect my equipment, and most importantly, to maintain the quality of your final gallery.
Because of this, I always recommend booking time-sensitive sessions (like maternity or newborn) well in advance. This gives us the flexibility to shift things around if unexpected weather pops up.
Just a note — I don’t shoot in the rain.
If you or your little ones are unwell, please let me know as soon as you can. I completely understand that kids get sick (life happens!), and I want your experience to feel relaxed and enjoyable for everyone involved.
how long will it take to receive my gallery?
We’ve had your session — now the waiting begins… and trust me, I totally get it! I’m just as impatient when it comes to photos.
To keep the excitement going (and ease the curiosity), I’ll send you a little sneak peek within 48 hours of your session.
From there, your full gallery will be ready within 30 days. For extended family sessions, please allow up to 5 weeks, as there’s a bit more magic to work through.
